AIA Contract Documents
The revised AIA A201 family of documents, including the owner-contractor agreements, were released in early 2017. Industry professionals need to know (1) how the choice of the owner-contractor agreement affects the relationship of the parties on a project; and (2) how to advise their clients on the selection of an appropriate owner-contractor agreement for their projects based on the size and complexity of the project, as well as the payment method.
Based on first-hand experience gained in the development of the documents, subject matter experts will explain the rationale behind the revisions and review the new features of the revised owner/contractor agreements. They will also offer pointers on how the text of an agreement may be modified to meet specific project needs.
Attendees will gain the knowledge needed to confidently recommend the owner-contractor agreement appropriate to the size, complexity and payment type of each particular construction project. Attendees will also will become familiar with the new Sustainable Projects Exhibit and understand how to incorporate it into the agreements to provide a positive impact on health and safety of building occupants.
