DESCRIPTION:SAY IT LOUD – NC will be the Largest SIL Exhibition to Date -And There is Still Time to Submit!\nThe SAY IT LOUD – NC team set out planning with a goal – to make this exhibition the largest in SAY IT LOUD history. We know there are many stories to tell from the minority architects around the State\, and if we had the chance to share them\, we wanted to do it LOUDLY. \nWe are excited to announce that we have currently TRIPLED the largest SAY IT LOUD exhibition to date\, with over 120 submissions! Due to the overwhelming interest\, we have decided to extend the deadline to this Friday\, April 9th to allow for all others interested to be included in this record-breaking effort. THE DEADLINE WILL NOT BE EXTENDED FURTHER. \nSubmit Your Work\nOn behalf of North Carolina’s Chapter of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NCNOMA) and American Institute of Architects North Carolina (AIANC)\, it is our pleasure to invite you to showcase your work through SAY IT LOUD – NC virtual exhibition in spring of 2021. \nYou can submit to SAY IT LOUD – North Carolina here! \nWe appreciate the support of our community across the State dedicated to SAY IT LOUD as we share these stories. If you are interested in being involved we would love to speak to you! \nAn Internationally-Recognized Effort and Exhibition\nNorth Carolina’s Chapters of the National Organization of Minority Architects (NCNOMA) and the American Institute of Architects (AIANC) are pleased to bring the internationally-recognized exhibition\, SAY IT LOUD by Beyond the Built Environment\, to North Carolina in 2021! SAY IT LOUD – North Carolina will elevate the contributions of BIPOC (Black\, Indigenous\, People of Color) and women designers\, architects\, engineers and planners through a two-part virtual and physical exhibit with a program series. \nSharing North Carolina Stories\nThe SAY IT LOUD – North Carolina exhibition will be in two parts\, starting with a virtual exhibit in May 2021\, followed by a physical exhibit in 2022. Both will feature projects by the diverse design professionals in our state\, as well as quotes and video interviews on their experiences in the architecture and design professions. The concept of this exhibit is “To see our faces\, hear our voices\, feel our impact within the colorful tapestry of our heritage.” SAY IT LOUD is the activation of a national movement of sharing\, protecting and celebrating the journey of the underrepresented to inspire the next generation. \nSAY IT LOUD – North Carolina will engage diverse audiences through programming organized at the time of exhibition to elevate the identities and contributions of minority architects and designers with curated lectures\, and documentaries that testify to the provided value of their built work and its spatial impact. To date\, SAY IT LOUD exhibitions have been viewed by an estimated total 36\,000 visitors since January 2017. From inception\, multiple online publications (such as Curbed and The Architects Newspaper) with large subscription bases have helped promote the exhibitions further expanding its impact.
